It is difficult to overstate the impact of the Supreme Court's decision last term in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which ended nearly 50 years of recognizing abortion as a federal constitutional right under Roe v. Wade. Yet while abortion has been at the center of our political debate for much of that time, many people remain uncertain about what Roe’s legal regime recognized and what Dobbs did by removing it. Even less clear is what comes next, as lawyers, legislators, and courts begin to grapple with the law of abortion in state-by-state battles around the country — with Idaho at the forefront.

Join our panel debate at the University of Idaho's Pittman Center to hear from experts on both sides of the abortion controversy about these important and thorny questions. This conversation moderated by Judge Lawrence VanDyke of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit will cover what Dobbs did, what it means for the future of the law of abortion in America, and why it matters. Admission is free, but civility is required.

Co-Sponsored with the Idaho Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society
